Birk Petersen’s “Which Way” engine is a single-cylinder, double-stroke, 4-flywheel engine. On this unusual engine, two pairs of flywheels at either end are driven by two pistons operating opposed to each other in a single cylinder. Because of the way they are connected, one flywheel will turn constantly in one direction, while the other flywheel can rotate either way.
