This dollhouse built by Buff Greaney is entitled, “Manor House.”  The miniature is on loan courtesy of the San Diego Miniature Crafters Association. Buff noted that there is an artist whose work she really enjoys, Kim Jacobs, and she uses some of her paintings for project ideas–like this Manor House. The project was built for a class that Buff took many years ago on “making a small shoppe.” However, as you can see, Buff made it into a large house.

The house was built from scratch, other than the wood for the basic house being pre-cut. The roof of the bay window is a piece of metal made to look older. Plaster was used for the inside and outside of the house, and Buff used paper clay to make the fireplace. The roof is a fence board which was cut into strips and then shingles. Because Buff was trying to craft the house to look like a painting, she had to make many of the pieces herself. She noted that it was challenging but also very fun.
