This unique Bleriot XI airplane model was built by Ellsworth Orr. It can be seen hanging above the display cases along with several other scale airplanes in the Miniature Engineering Craftsmanship Museum. The Bleriot XI was a French aircraft from the early days of aviation. The first model was used by Louis Bleriot to make the first flight across the English Channel on July 25, 1909. It was one of the most famous accomplishments of the pioneer era of aviation. Mr. Orr has also contributed some of his other projects, like an R/C Pietenpol airplane, a hydroplane racing boat and a 1/12 scale fishing boat for display at the museum.
