Birk Petersen’s 1/6 scale model Buffalo Springfield steam roller. This working model was featured in a six-part build series in Live Steam magazine running from Nov/Dec 2002 through Sept/Oct 2003. The articles featured photos of the build along with Birk’s detailed plans. The model was based on a 4 hp steamroller that Birk spotted in a construction company yard in Salt Lake City, Utah. After asking the owners for permission, he took photos and dimensions to build this model. Birk made all the patterns and castings himself. The miniature steam roller was finished on February 14, 2000.
