This dollhouse scene built by Buff Greaney is entitled, “Mini Bits.” The miniature is on loan courtesy of the San Diego Miniature Crafters Association. This project was crafted from a club project that took place many years ago. There were about three or four different style houses to choose from, and all the houses were cut out with doors and windows provided. The miniaturists just had to put them together and paint them. But the creativity is in the painting process. This display includes three of the sample houses in a scale smaller than 1/4-inch.

Buff is a Chicago native who came to San Diego via Naples, Italy and Sugarloaf Key, where she was busy as a Naval wife and mother–and owner of a pet monkey! Always imaginative and creative, Buff enjoyed a couple of art classes in college and later took interior decorating classes for fun. Her work life was detail oriented, and she retired as a technical writer for instructions/manuals on assembling computer components.

Buff has an unleashed imagination that embraces an expressive and often humorous spirit. She is a mentor to many miniaturists, and always encourages original ideas while embracing resourcefulness.
