This dollhouse diorama is entitled, “Ye Olde Hat Shop Window.” It was built by Sara Botts, and is on display with several other dollhouse rooms that she crafted.
Sara Botts was a woman of many talents. She was described as a painter, ceramicist, sculptor, doll maker, miniature room-box creator, and a savvy cook and party thrower. She worked as a bookkeeper for an interior design group where she gained the inspiration to make miniature rooms when she retired. Sara wanted a fun and relaxing hobby, and found her happiness as a miniaturist. Her husband helped out with his skills as an electrician, providing light to her rooms.
