This vertical Stirling engine with fan was built by Ron Schindele, of AZ, in 2020. The initial brass cylinder became problematic because the heat conductivity from the bottom of the cylinder to the top was too good. Ron experimented with this steel cylinder which helped, but still did not yield ideal results in operation. The addition of the heat-sink and fan on top of the cylinder eliminated the problem and the engine efficiency increased dramatically.
