This is an unassembled Varo Amp-Champ generator which was used to start model R/C airplanes on the flight line. Interestingly, these small generators were also used to charge military radios in the field during the Vietnam War. This particular Amp-Champ was disassembled for restoration. The parts were repainted; however, the owner found it too difficult to reassemble. This exhibit is not currently on display.
