This. single-cylinder OHC air-cooled demonstration engine was made in Germany in the 1990s. The engine is 8”-long, 16”-wide, 8”-high, and weighs 8 oz. The kit was manufactured by ELWE Educational Products and sold to institutions and schools to be assembled in the classroom. It was designed to teach the fundamentals of electronics, mechanics, and operation of the internal combustion engine. The kit was supplied with everything necessary (except 12V battery) to complete the engine for running demonstrations. It is equipped with timing marks on the flywheel and an electronic ignition and a sensor that replaces the points.
