This Open crank 6 inline engine was designed by Randall Cox, of WA, and built by Ramon Hoagland, of CO, in 2018. Randall Cox designed the engine for entertainment and education and sold a few completed engines, he also provided many drawing packages for builders worldwide. The concept of an open crank engine is to visually witness the inner workings of a gasoline engine. Inline six-cylinder water-cooled engines have been in use for many years in automobiles, trucks, and boats. However numerous variations of air-cooled 6-cylinder engines were used in aircraft since the earliest days of flight.
