This overhead valve inline slant 4-cylinder engine was made by Dick Pretel, of CA, in 2008. The engine is tilted 30 degrees to resemble the Pontiac Tempest and Chrysler engines used in the early sixties. Dick designed the pistons and rings, titanium valves, the crankshaft center bearing, and the head with fully machined coolant and combustion chambers. The radiator, fan, the starter, and the electronic ignition are contained in the display cabinet below. Dick machined the distributor cap and trim pieces from thermoplastic. The crankshaft and camshaft were ground by Roger Slocum.
