This miniature model engine cam grinder was designed and built by Ron Schindele, of AZ, in 2004. The unique feature of Ron’s cam grinder is an indexing cog gear that automatically controls the down-feed of the grinding wheel at about .001 per revolution of the cam. This feature allows the operator to leave the machine momentarily while the machine continues its operation. It uses standard 6-inch x 1-1/4 grinding wheels, sports a cam pattern degree wheel with a taper-lock, a feed-jog switch, and a ball bearing cam follower: The follower arm can be locked in the up position for loading and unloading, or in the down position for transport and storage.
