This Lee .45 model airplane engine is mounted on a wooden stand, serial No. 4506. A spare purple head was included. Clarence Lee sent us a letter about this unique engine noting its significance: 

“Here’s the prototype engine Dale [Nutter] used to set the Pylon record at Bakersfield. The record was later broken by Zel Ritchie, but Dale was the first to break one minute. Incidentally, I was there and held the ship while starting the engine.”
