The J E Special tether car was made by Doug Parker, of Vermont, in 2018. The tether car was designed and built by Doug Parker as a tribute to John Ellis; an accomplished tether car builder, racer, and engine designer/builder. It is machined from aluminum, steel, and brass bar stock and is powered by a modified Picco model engine. The car measures 7-3/4”-long, has a 4”-tread width, a 5”-wheel base, and it weighs 2.004 ounces. Height to the tip of the glow plug is 2-3/4”.
