The Gem 1 stationary engine was built by Dwight Giles, of California, in 2005. The Giles Engine Model 1 (GEM) is a small horizontal 4-stroke with a bore of 7/8” and a stroke of 1-1/8” for a total displacement of 0.68 cubic inches. It measures only 7”-long, 4.5”-wide, 5.25”-tall, and was designed to burn gasoline on spark ignition.
