Robert “Bob” Johnson (1931–2011) handmade these four ships in bottles, which were donated to the Miniature Engineering Craftsmanship Museum by Tam Johnson. Bob was born and raised in Superior, Nebraska. He started making models while attending Hastings College. His studies and model making were temporarily put on hold when he joined the Army. Bob later returned to Hastings College to complete his BA degree and continue crafting models. He married Ruby (Tam) Hashage in 1951. These four models represent some of his work from 1955 to 2002, with two of them being made while Bob lived in nearby Oceanside, CA. The models are on display with a handful of other miniature ships in bottles.
