In 2002, Dennis Fadden built this model engine using castings made by Bruce Satra. The cylinder and head assembly are from a 1/6 scale model of the Pratt & Whitney R-985 Wasp Jr. 9-cylinder engine that Satra manufactures and sells as a kit. This Fadden engine is 5”-long, 4”-wide, and 5”-high.

Utilizing just one cylinder assembly, Satra designed and engineered this new product. After machining his first engines from aluminum bar stock, Satra produced castings for the crankcase and began selling this little single Pratt in kit form too.
