This Edward’s style 5-cylinder radial airplane engine was built by Chuck Harty, of Colorado, in the 1990s. This engine closely resembles Forest Edward’s radial engine in size and configuration; however, it does not have a pressure lubrication system. Oil must be added to the gasoline for internal lubrication and the rockers must be lubricated manually before operation. One point of interest is Mr. Harty’s use of vinyl tubing for the intake manifold connection. It measures 11” in diameter, 10.5”-long, and weighs 12 pounds (including the base).
