This custom 5-cylinder radial airplane engine was designed and built by Chuck Harty, of Colorado, in the 1990s. Chuck’s custom radial engine resembles the Morton M5 but measures 8” in diameter, 8”-long, and weighs 6 pounds 5 ounces on the base. His primary goal in building this engine was to make one-piece cylinder and head assemblies; something he had never done before. It is designed to burn gas with oil mixed in for lubrication. The rockers must be manually lubricated before operation.
