Ten years in the making, Martin Foster built and donated this exceptionally detailed scale model B-17G “Fuddy Duddy” fuselage to the Miniature Engineering Craftsmanship Museum. Mr. Foster initially planned to build just the nose section but, in the end, decided to model the entire fuselage. Martin chose to build the model at 1/20 scale so that he could include as many features as possible. The full fuselage is 50-inches long. All parts were modeled from reference photographs without the benefit of any kind of automated design tools such as CAD. Large portions of the top of the fuselage remain open so that viewers can get a glimpse of the super-detailed interior. View Mr. Foster’s page, which is linked above and in the “Details” section, to learn more about the B-17G and his other aircraft models.
