Scale Model Machines
1/12 Scale Bridgeport M Head Mill
The model Bridgeport also won first place in its division at a contest at the American Precision Museum in Vermont.
1/18 Scale Cincinnati 30V 5-Axis Machine
Gerhard’s functional 1/18 scale model of the Cincinnati 30V 5-axis machine.
Model Airplanes
Electric Airplane Model
This electrically powered aircraft was also one of Gerhard’s original designs. It was styled to resemble a typical flyer of the 1920’s. He noted that it flew great!
Clancy Lazy Bee Airplane
At one contest where Gerhard flew the Lazy Bee, he made a slow pass over the field at about 5-10 mph, while a friend came out and chased the plane with a can of bug spray!
Model Boats
Bluefin RC Boat
Gerhard also tried his hand at RC ship modeling. This excellent model of a working lobster boat, the Bluefin, is 30″ long. It was powered by an electric motor with simulated Diesel sound.
Bluefin RC Boat
The Bluefin was modeled after boats that cruised the waters near Gerhard’s home in New York.

At one point, this model actually placed 3rd in a contest because judges deemed that it looked, “too neat,” and not worn enough to be a work boat!
Orca RC Boat
Gerhard’s RC boat, Orca took 2nd place at the Nautical Festival. Once again, the ship missed out on top billing because of a lack of “weathering.”
Orca RC Boat
The Orca features multiple functions including sound, simulated radar, lights, and a firing .22 caliber cannon along with depth charges. The cannon fires flour-filled blanks for smoke effect.

The .22 cal. mine thrower fires explosive devices adapted from those used to scare geese from golf courses.
