Douglas DC-3 “Flagship” Airliner

This wooden model represents the American Airlines “Flagship” airliner, a Douglas DC-3. The original plane was built as a transcontinental airliner capable of crossing the United States from coast-to-coast in 15 hours (3 stops). Over 10,000 of the military C-47 versions were built in WWII.
