The only other jet in Joe Bridi’s collection of model planes, this jet was based on the Aero Commander. That company was purchased by North American Rockwell, but they already had a small business jet, the Saberliner. The design was eventually sold to Israeli Aircraft Industries (IAI) which now sells the modern version of this plane as the Westwind II. The tiny winglets on the wingtip tanks were developed on this aircraft and are now standard on almost all jet passenger planes.
