A 1/32 scale model 1969 Crown triple fire engine. In 1969, working from plans by Tom Showers, John made this basswood model Triple Engine. For this model, John also incorporated sheet styrene plastic for the first time. John Ackerman has been building and collecting miniature fire apparatus since he was 6 years old. His exhibits document the progression as a model builder from his earliest works through some of his most recent projects.
