A scale model 1914 American LaFrance city service ladder truck. Built in 1966, this was John’s first attempt at making wooden ladders using plans and techniques from Phil Da Costa. John Ackerman has been building and collecting miniature fire apparatus since he was 6 years old. His exhibits document the progression as a model builder from his earliest works through some of his most recent projects.
