This Wall OHV inline 4-cylinder engine was made by Dick Pretel, of CA, in 2004. The bronze flywheel was cast by Ed DeGear over 60 years prior, and Dick machined it for this engine as a tribute to Mr. DeGear. All of the components, other than the crankcase, were machined from 7075 aluminum, steel, stainless steel, and thermoplastic. The billet tank serves a dual function for fuel, and the coolant that circulates from the engine to the radiator located in the cabinet below. The cabinet also houses the electrical system, starter motor, cooling fan, and electronic ignition system. Dick designed and machined the pistons, rings, and the center bearing block for the crankshaft; the crankshaft and cam were ground by Roger Slocum. The engine measures 13.5”-long, 5”-wide, and 7.5”-high.
