This Duesenberg tether car and engine was designed and built by Wayne Short, of CA, in 2010. Measuring about 10″-wide, 8″-high, and 21″-long, Wayne’s rendition of the Duesenberg tether car sports his faithful reproduction of the Duesenberg .60 cu. in. engine designed by Augie Duesenberg. Wayne spent several years making patterns from a drawing and specifications of the engine that appeared in a 1940 advertisement in Toys and Novelties magazine. It has a bore of 15/16″ and a stroke of 7/8″. The engine is cast in aluminum with bronze bearings and a unique rotary valve intake.
