All displays are on the ground floor level, and a wheelchair ramp is provided from the handicapped parking area. The facility and restrooms are fully wheelchair accessible, plus we have a comfortable lounge area if you are mobile but need to sit down for a while. An electric ride-around scooter is available if needed.

If coming via San Marcos Blvd. or Rancho Santa Fe from Hwy 78 note that San Marcos Blvd. changes names to Palomar Airport Road after it crosses Rancho Santa Fe. Note also that Business Park Drive goes north from Palomar Airport Road, but on the south side of the intersection it is called White Sands. Poinsettia Avenue changes names to Lionshead where it crosses Business Park Drive. We apologize for our local cities' confusing street naming practices.
NOTE: Poinsettia changes names to Lionshead Avenue where it crosses Business Park Drive. San Marcos Blvd. turns into Palomar Airport Road if approaching from San Marcos.
Use CAUTION Leaving the museum parking lot
When you visit the museum in Carlsbad, take care when pulling back out onto Lionshead Avenue from the museum parking lot. It is hard to see around the curve to your left. The speed limit is 50 MPH and vehicles often exceed that, meaning you only have a few seconds to react once they round the corner. Check both ways very carefully before pulling out, and then pull out in a positive manner.
